Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (played by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Planners tables.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which characters will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
